Make Magic with Aloha. From Seedlings to Shelter. During our district-wide Week of Environmental Service, join us for two transformative days on Maui where your hands and heart can help write the next chapter of healing and hope. Friday: Unite with local nonprofits on crucial housing and education initiatives that strengthen the communities. See a list of service projects HERE. Saturday: Join our partnership with Treecovery to nurture and re-pot non-invasive tree seedlings - part of our district-wide global grant project to replant the burn zone in the coming years. Current funding for this is through the Rotary District 5000 Foundation Maui Fires Relief Fund.

Jul. 19, 2025 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Please join us as we get to work assisting in the cleanup and restoration of the Kula burn area. We'll be working with Malama Kula, a recent recipient of a Maui Fire Relief Fund grant from Rotary District 5000. For the work day on the we’ll likely be focusing on re-planting native vegetation, (likely vetiver plants, which help with erosion and soil retention along ridge lines), wood chip scattering, and/or pulling invasive plants like nettle. We’ll cater the activities to the physical ability levels of the people choosing to attend (so no worries—nothing will be too hard!) Participants will want to bring clothes and equipment for working outdoors: • Closed toed shoes You're also welcome to bring gloves from home, although we have plenty to use if you don’t have your own. We'll meet at the Kula Marketplace at 8:30 am, in the parking area. Please email us to let us know you'll be joining us: upcountryrotary@gmail.com |
