Helping raise up the next generation of leaders

Students of the Month

Every month during the school year, our club honors and celebrates outstanding students, chosen by their teachers, from two Upcountry high schools, King Kekaulike and King Kamehemeha. It's always our favorite meeting of the month. These students excel in the classroom and out. When we hear their achievements we often think "When do they sleep??"

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards

Rotary Youth Leadership AwardsRYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is an intensive leadership training and development program.  It is designed for 10th and 11th grade students from any Hawai`i public or private high schools.  While last year's RYLA camp was virtual, in 2023 the camps are in person again.

Each island holds their own RYLA camp and our own Mary Albitz is a leader for the Maui RYLA.

Rotary Dictionary Project

One of the 7 Avenues of Service of Rotary is Literacy. An ongoing project in that Avenue of Service is the Rotary Dictionary Project. Rotary clubs around the country have been donating dictionaries to students since the 2002-2003 school year. In total, Rotarians have donated over 7 million dictionaries.
Every school year, our club donates and delivers dictionaries to every third grade student in all the upcountry elementary schools.
